Terms of service
Last updated: 8 October 2026
These terms apply when you buy Lasting Power of Attorney documents through yourlpa.co.uk. Please read them before you pay.
1. Who we are
yourLPA is a trading name of Futura Planning Ltd, registered in England and Wales, company number 15243334, registered office 6 Tollhouse Road, Churchill, Winscombe, BS25 5AN. Futura Planning Ltd is a member of the Society of Will Writers. Contact us at enquiries@yourlpa.co.uk.
We are not solicitors, and we are not part of the Office of the Public Guardian (OPG).
2. What we do
For the price you pay, we:
- check every answer you give, and contact you if anything needs changing or isn’t clear
- prepare your Lasting Power of Attorney documents
- print them and post them to you, with step-by-step instructions on signing and registering
- answer your questions about the process by email, and check photos of your signed pages, if you send them, before you post your LPA to the OPG.
We aim to post your documents within 5 working days of receiving your completed answers, or of resolving any questions we raise.
3. What we don’t do
- We don’t register your LPA. You, or your attorneys, send it to the OPG, and the OPG decides whether to register it.
- We don’t give legal advice beyond checking that your answers will work in an LPA. Our online service is for straightforward situations. If your situation needs personal advice, we’ll tell you, and you can book a consultation with Futura Planning, which is charged separately.
- We don’t witness your signature or act as your certificate provider.
4. Who can use the service
The person making each LPA must be 18 or over, live in England or Wales, and be able to understand and decide to make the LPA. You can fill in the form for someone else, but they must agree to the LPA and sign it themselves.
If, after checking your answers, we think our online service isn’t right for you, we’ll explain why and give you a full refund.
5. Your responsibilities
- Give complete and accurate answers. We rely on what you tell us.
- Choose your attorneys and certificate provider carefully, and make sure they’re willing and eligible.
- Sign the documents in the right order and in the right way, following our instructions.
- Send the signed LPA to the OPG and pay its registration fee.
6. Prices and payment
Our prices are shown on the website: one LPA £95, both LPAs £165, or both LPAs each for a couple £295. They include our check, printing and posting. Futura Planning Ltd is not VAT-registered, so there’s no VAT to add.
The OPG charges its own fee to register each LPA (currently £92). You pay this to the OPG, not to us.
You pay in full when you place your order, by card or the other methods shown at checkout. Payments are taken by Stripe for Futura Planning Ltd.
If you use a partner’s code, the discount is applied at checkout. Partners who recommend us may receive a reward, which doesn’t change your price.
7. Cancelling
You have 14 days from placing your order to cancel, for any reason, by emailing enquiries@yourlpa.co.uk.
- If we haven’t started checking your answers, we’ll refund you in full.
- When you place your order you ask us to start straight away. If you cancel after we’ve started, we’ll refund you minus £30 per LPA for the work done.
- Once we’ve posted your documents, the service is complete and you can no longer cancel.
We refund to the original payment method within 14 days.
8. If something goes wrong
We check your LPA with reasonable care and skill.
- If the OPG rejects your LPA because of our mistake, we’ll correct it and send new documents free of charge, and refund any extra OPG fee you have to pay.
- If the OPG rejects it for another reason, such as a signing or witnessing error, we’ll explain what to do and send you one replacement set of documents free of charge. Any further OPG fee is yours to pay. To avoid this, send us photos of the signed pages before you post them to the OPG, and we’ll check them for free.
We’re not responsible for the OPG’s decisions, its fees, or how long it takes to register an LPA.
9. Our liability
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law doesn’t allow us to limit. Otherwise, our total liability to you is limited to the price you paid for the service. We’re not liable for losses we couldn’t reasonably have foreseen when you placed your order.
These terms don’t affect your legal rights as a consumer.
10. The Futura Planning credit
If you buy LPAs from yourLPA, you’ll get £50 off a Will or estate planning service from Futura Planning, if you book it within 6 months of your yourLPA order. It doesn’t apply to LPAs. It’s one credit per yourLPA order, it can’t be exchanged for cash, and it can’t be combined with other offers.
11. Complaints
If you’re unhappy with our service, please email enquiries@yourlpa.co.uk. We’ll acknowledge your complaint within 5 working days and aim to resolve it within 4 weeks. If we can’t resolve it, you can refer it to the Society of Will Writers’ complaints process.
12. Your information
Our privacy notice explains how we use your personal information.
13. The law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If there’s a dispute, you can bring proceedings in the courts of England and Wales.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The version that applies to your order is the one shown on the website when you placed it.
