Fee help checker

Can you get help with the registration fee?

The Office of the Public Guardian charges £92 to register each LPA. Some people pay half, and some pay nothing. Answer up to three quick questions to see what you’re likely to pay. The rules are the same for both types of LPA, and they’re about the person making the LPA, not the attorneys.

Question 1 of up to 3

Does the person making the LPA get any of these benefits?

  • Pension Credit (the Guarantee Credit part)
  • Income-based Employment and Support Allowance
  • Income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance
  • Income Support
  • Housing Benefit
  • Council Tax Benefit or Council Tax Reduction
  • Local Housing Allowance
  • Working Tax Credit with Child Tax Credit or a disability element

Universal Credit doesn’t count here, but the OPG will consider it for the half fee in question 3.
