Privacy notice
Last updated: 8 October 2026
This notice explains what personal information yourLPA collects, why, and what we do with it.
Who we are
yourLPA is a trading name of Futura Planning Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 15243334), registered office 6 Tollhouse Road, Churchill, Winscombe, BS25 5AN. Futura Planning Ltd is the data controller for the information you give us. We are registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office, registration number ZB763479.
If you have any questions about your information, email enquiries@yourlpa.co.uk.
What we collect
About you (the person making the LPA): your name and any other names you’re known by, date of birth, home address, email address, phone number, and whether you can sign the LPA yourself.
About the other people in your LPA: the names, addresses and, for attorneys and replacement attorneys, dates of birth, email addresses (optional) and how they’re related to you, of your attorneys, replacement attorneys, certificate provider and people to notify. Please let them know you’ve given us their details and point them to this notice.
Your choices for the LPA: how your attorneys make decisions, when the LPA can be used, and any preferences and instructions. For a health and welfare LPA this includes your choice about life-sustaining treatment, and may include other information about your health or care wishes. This is special category data, which the law protects more strongly.
Payment: we don’t see or store your card details. Payments are handled by Stripe, which tells us whether a payment succeeded and the amount.
If you contact us: your name, email address, phone number if you give it, and your message, so we can reply. We keep these emails for up to 2 years.
Our start-up questions: your answers about your circumstances (for example, owning a business), so we can tell whether our online service suits you.
Information kept on your own device
While you fill in the form, your answers are saved in your web browser on your own device, so you can come back later. We don’t receive them until you choose to pay. You can delete them at any time with the “Delete my answers” button, and they’re removed from your device once your payment goes through.
Why we use it, and our legal reasons
| What we do | Legal reason |
|---|---|
| Check and prepare your LPA, post it to you, and contact you about it | To carry out our contract with you |
| Use the details of your attorneys and the other people in your LPA | Our legitimate interest in preparing the LPA you’ve asked for, which needs their details |
| Use health-related information in a health and welfare LPA | Your explicit consent, which you give when you place your order. You can withdraw it, but we then can’t prepare that LPA |
| Keep payment and accounting records | Our legal obligations, such as tax law |
| Ask Trustpilot to invite you to review us, after we’ve posted your LPA | Our legitimate interest in hearing how we did and sharing genuine reviews. You can opt out at any time using the link in the invitation |
| Tell a partner who recommended us about your order, so we can pay their reward | Our legitimate interest in rewarding the professionals who introduce customers to us. We share only your order reference, date and the reward due |
| Send you occasional updates from Futura Planning, only if you ticked the box | Your consent, which you can withdraw at any time |
We don’t sell your information, and we don’t use it for automated decisions about you.
Who we share it with
We only share what each organisation needs:
- Stripe, to take your payment. Stripe may process data outside the UK, under safeguards approved under UK data protection law.
- Hostinger, which hosts our website and email.
- Willsuite, the case management software we use to prepare your LPA documents.
- Royal Mail, to post your documents by tracked delivery.
- Futura Planning’s advisers, if you ask for personal advice or are referred to them.
- Partners who recommended us, if you used their link or code: we tell them your order reference, date and the reward due, never your answers.
- Trustpilot, the review website, which receives a copy of our email telling you your documents are on their way, so it can invite you to review us. It sees your name, email address and order reference, never your answers. You can ignore the invitation, or opt out using the link in it.
We don’t send your LPA to the Office of the Public Guardian ourselves: you, or your attorneys, register it. If we’re legally required to share information, for example with the police or a court, we will.
How long we keep it
- Orders that aren’t paid for: deleted automatically, usually within a few hours and always within 2 days.
- Your answers on our website server: deleted 6 months after we post your LPA, or 6 months after a cancelled order is refunded.
- Your case file in Willsuite, including copies of your LPA: kept for 15 years, so we can help if you need a copy or your LPA is questioned.
- Payment and accounting records: 6 years, as tax law requires.
Keeping it safe
Your answers are sent to us over an encrypted connection and stored encrypted on our server. Only the people at yourLPA who prepare your LPA can see them.
Your rights
You have the right to ask for a copy of your information, to have it corrected, to have it deleted, to restrict or object to how we use it, to move it to another provider, and to withdraw consent. Email enquiries@yourlpa.co.uk and we’ll reply within one month.
If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your information, please tell us first. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
